A modern "Journey to the West," featuring a unique take on today's new "seeking truth" lifestyle, where a sensual goddess transforms into a tomboy. Siblings separated, they experience love and hate before finally reuniting. Four characters take on cancer and battle deception to seek the truth, showcasing the 72 transformations of human nature, with elements of satire, dark undercurrents, mystery, and moments of joy sprinkled with warmth, amidst the urban rivalries. Hong Kong businessman Tang Youqiao holds an opening reception for his family's pharmaceutical company "Shennong Hall" in Guangzhou, gathering people from all directions, each showcasing their talents. Specialist in tumor treatment, Dr. Tang Wensheng, is invited to give a keynote speech and catches the special attention of Tang Youqiao, inexplicably evoking a faint sense of familiarity. Zhu Laifeng, known for his deceitful ways, mingles in the crowd like a butterfly, searching for opportunities to cheat. The cunning general manager Niu Shixiong has already observed everything and, along with his secretary Tie Li, secretly prepares to deal with the two troublesome interlopers like Cheng Yaojin. Just then, Sun Tiansheng, who was unjustly dismissed by Tie Li, comes to confront her, sparking a conflict. In reality, Sun Tiansheng is an investigator from the drug supervision department, secretly tracking Niu Shixiong, Tie Li, and others for producing counterfeit drugs. Accompanying Sun Tiansheng is a motorcycle rider wearing a helmet who keeps challenging him. Surprisingly, the seemingly boyish rider squabbling with Tiansheng turns out to be Tang Youqiao's only daughter, Tang Chao! Niu Shixiong instructs his subordinates to take advantage of the chaos, immediately turning the colorful cocktail party upside down. In the melee, Zhu Laifeng escapes, while Sun Tiansheng, outnumbered, is injured on the ground and is rescued by the kind-hearted Tang Wensheng. The spirited Tang Chao is impressed by Tiansheng's deft skills, developing a fondness for him. However, this also leads to Tang Youqiao's deep dissatisfaction with his daughter, as he complains loudly about how he ended up with such a troublesome daughter. Disappointed, Tang Youqiao decides to rely on Tang Wensheng's expertise in drug research to assist in the operation of the branch company. Additionally, he is quite interested in Wensheng's background. Niu Shixiong and Tie Li, however, feel anxious about Tang Youqiao's decision. Tang Wensheng, however, declines Tang Youqiao's offer. This is because, disinterested in fame and fortune, he has devoted himself to seeking effective treatments for cancer patients and does not want to leave his beloved research position, especially since he is preparing to marry his beloved Qinfang, wanting to avoid major life changes. However, just days before the wedding, Qinfang suddenly has a change of heart and cancels the engagement. Wensheng is puzzled, and through Zhu Laifeng, who pursued and was rejected by Qinfang, he learns the truth; Qinfang has discovered she is suffering from cancer. In a state of despair, Wensheng takes the initiative to contact Tang Youqiao, determined to leverage the Tang family's resources to accelerate the development of new cancer treatments. Tang Youqiao is overjoyed at Wensheng's change of heart and promises to establish a dedicated research foundation for him, as well as providing all necessary equipment, with the only condition being to ensure the quality of "Shennong Hall" products. This infuriates Niu Shixiong, who wants to monopolize the Tang family business, and he quickly devises a plan to eliminate Wensheng. However, Niu Shixiong does not realize that Tie Li has secretly fallen for Wensheng, giving Wensheng a chance to escape calamity. Tang Youqiao visits Huixin Kindergarten to inquire about Tang Wensheng's background but is taken aback to find that all the information has been stolen. Tang Wensheng recruits new staff; Sun Tiansheng, whom he saved, is faithfully devoted to him. Zhu Laifeng, seeing a chance for profit, also shows up. The mechanic Sha Ligan, feeling guilty for having worked on Wensheng's vehicle, also comes over. The four gather together and notice that their surnames and personalities coincide amusingly with the four disciples from "Journey to the West," leading them to lightly mock each other regarding their roles. Even Wensheng’s white BMW joins in on the fun, resembling Tang Seng's white dragon horse, adding more excitement to their journey. Tang Chao has mixed feelings about Wensheng joining the Tang family business. She has fallen deeply and hopelessly in love with Sun Tiansheng, and although she is happy to have the chance to see him often, she worries about her father's reliance on Wensheng, fearing he may take her place in her father's heart. Zhu Laifeng, undeterred by past failures, aims his sights on Tang Chao, who pretends to accept his advances to provoke Tiansheng. Tiansheng, falling for the trap, warns Tang Chao to be careful not to be deceived, and find himself in a conflict with Laifeng while unknowingly protecting both Tang Chao and Laifeng. This brings great joy to Tang Chao, only for her to accidentally expose her motives. The only confidante to Tang Chao is Qinfang, whose gentle nature she admires. To attract Tiansheng's attention, Tang Chao mimics Qinfang, but her awkward attempts end up backfiring and scare Tiansheng away. Qinfang's condition suddenly worsens, and although she survives the emergency, Wensheng investigates and finds that Qinfang was using fake "Shennong Hall" medication in a desperate bid to cure her illness! Tang Youqiao is furious and orders an investigation into the production of this batch of drugs. Clever Niu Shixiong shifts all the blame onto Tang Wensheng, but in truth, it was due to Tang Chao's reckless actions, spurred on by Niu Shixiong and Tie Li, that this batch of drugs was put on the market. Wensheng does not defend himself and takes responsibility, which deeply moves Tang Chao, who then admits her mistake to her father, but is met with a harsh reprimand from Tang Youqiao. Tang Chao finds this hard to accept, resulting in a dramatic father-daughter fallout. Tang Youqiao learns from the drug regulation bureau that there is a mole within the company, with Niu Shixiong pointing fingers at Wensheng. However, Tang Youqiao does not believe this and discloses that Wensheng may be his long-lost son, insisting that the mole must be someone else, and assigns Niu Shixiong to find the culprit within a deadline. Unexpectedly, soon after, Tang Youqiao goes abroad for business and dies suddenly from mysterious heart failure. Tang Wensheng is shocked by the news and vows to find the culprit who tarnished the "Shennong Hall" reputation as a way to repay Tang Youqiao’s kindness. Thus, Wensheng and his three companions begin their clandestine investigations, facing numerous challenges and dangers in pursuit of the "true scripture" behind the scenes. During this journey, the rebellious and straightforward Tang Chao and the greedy yet cunning Zhu Laifeng cause a considerable amount of trouble, adding both tension and humor to their quest. Cheng Huixin receives a photo sent by Tang Youqiao from abroad of his long-lost wife, only to discover that the young woman in the photo is Wensheng's mother. Shocked, Wensheng realizes that he is forever separated from his father, lamenting how fate plays tricks on people. Ultimately, Tang Chao and Tang Wensheng are lured by Niu Shixiong to a so-called counterfeit drug hub deep in the mountains, where they and their companions fall into a deep trap. At this moment, Niu Shixiong reveals himself, and they realize they’ve been deceived. Niu Shixiong admits that he has been selling counterfeit drugs under the guise of the Tang family enterprise, stating that everything will remain a secret and that those who obstruct his financial ambitions will disappear quietly into the mountains. After saying this, he departs. Tang Chao arrives but cannot rescue Wensheng and the others, feeling helpless. At this critical moment, Wensheng reveals his true identity to Tang Chao and acknowledges their sibling bond but regrets that the day of their reunion has turned into a farewell. He advises Tang Chao to mature and take on the heavy responsibility of seeking justice from Niu Shixiong. Just then, an old herbalist appears and rescues Wensheng and the others. It seems everything was destined, as the old man turns out to be the benefactor who once saved Wensheng and his mother. Wensheng's mother had fallen ill and entrusted her son to the old man, who braved the elements to deliver Wensheng to Huixin. As Niu Shixiong and Tie Li celebrate their removal of all obstacles, Wensheng and Tang Chao confront them. Sun Tiansheng and the police soon follow, arresting the two under the law. Wensheng and Tang Chao visit their father's grave to pay their respects, assuring their deceased father that he has finally developed a new cancer treatment, with Qinfang being the first patient to benefit from it. Wensheng also tells his father that he will build a dedicated tumor hospital at Putuo Mountain in the name of the Tang family, and he and Qinfang will reside there, forever close to the beautiful backdrop that holds the memory of his mother. Tang Chao officially takes over the Tang family business. At the celebration, she unexpectedly dons a long gown, elegantly appearing before everyone. Tiansheng is amazed but bursts into laughter, struggling to adjust to the tomboy’s transformation into a sensual goddess. Tang Chao awkwardly forgets to hold back and ends up in a playful fight with Tiansheng, concluding the occasion in a joyful uproar.
