Noriko (played by Haruka Kuroki) is a 20-year-old university student who lives a meaningless life every day, drifting aimlessly and filled with confusion about her future. Under her mother's introduction, Noriko comes to a tea ceremony class near her home with her cousin Michiko (played by Miba Wakako). This is Noriko's first time stepping into this unfamiliar and mysterious field. The teacher in charge is an elderly lady named Takeda (played by Kirin Kiki), and Noriko feels a bit intimidated by this somewhat strict teacher. However, as time passes and the learning progresses, Noriko gradually understands the life lessons that tea ceremony knowledge imparts. The formalities she initially didn't quite understand began to soothe her restless heart in an intangible way.
