Chicago welcomes another sunny day, and the master of skipping school, Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick), naturally won't choose a boring test on this day. He pretends to be seriously ill to fool his parents, making his sister Jeanie at school enviously frustrated. Ferris enlists his friend Cameron (Alan Ruck), and together they trick the dean, Rooney, and drive Cameron's father's prized Ferrari to take Ferris's girlfriend, Sloane, out of school for a joyride. Ferris’s skilled phone tricks, with the cooperation of Cameron and Sloane, leave everyone spinning in confusion. The students are deeply influenced by him, even starting a donation campaign for the fictitious surgery Ferris claims to need. Unable to tolerate Ferris's repeated tricks, Rooney goes incognito outside the school, hoping to catch Ferris in the act, while Ferris and his friends embark on an adventure to conceal their identities...
