Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is over thirty and, despite having no financial worries, his life is a complete failure. After divorcing his wife three years ago, he has been living a single life. He works at a bank but is merely going through the motions, with no hope of promotion. He avoids social interactions and prefers to stay at home watching movies, as if his life is shrouded in a gray mist. On a friend's suggestion, Carl visits a self-help group called "Yes Man" and, under the guidance of mentor Terrence (Terence Stamp), he begins to respond affirmatively to every question in his life. This small change transforms Carl's life dramatically, bringing him honor, wealth, opportunities, and love. Just when he feels confident, he discovers that life is not as simple as he thought... This film is adapted from the autobiography of British comedian and writer Danny Wallace and won the MTV Best Comedic Performance Award in 2009 (Jim Carrey).
