Chan Po-Chu (played by Mao Shun-Jun) is a straightforward and cheerful female inspector who has been married to Lee Chu-Yam (played by Lam Bo-Yi) for six years. While Chu has a successful career, he is dissatisfied with Po-Chu's job and demands that she resign, which troubles her greatly. At work, Po-Chu meets an informant, Cheng Da-Zhi (played by Ha Yu), who is a small-time figure working at a casino. He was jailed for protecting his mother, which cost him his future and his old flame, Ren Ying-Ying (played by Man Suet-Yi). Although Da-Zhi's mother wishes for him to be with Guo You-Zhen (played by Hu Mei-Yi), it ultimately does not work out. Po-Chu accidentally discovers that Chu is a womanizer and demands a divorce. Chu refuses, and they end up wagering their marriage, leading to a heated argument over "human integrity." They decide to use Da-Zhi as the target for a betting game. Da-Zhi, wanting to open a dessert shop, agrees to be Po-Chu's live-in worker for a month. The two go from antagonism to developing feelings for each other, leaving Po-Chu deeply conflicted. Da-Zhi ultimately wins the wager for Po-Chu, leading to the divorce between Chu and Po-Chu, and Chu harbors resentment towards Da-Zhi. Later, Da-Zhi's dessert shop is set on fire, and Chu is suspected of being behind it, deepening their misunderstandings. Subsequently, Chu is kidnapped, and Da-Zhi is pointed out as the mastermind, leaving him without a defense. Will Da-Zhi be able to clear his name, and how will Po-Chu ultimately choose her feelings for him?
