This drama is adapted from the novel "The Legend of the Heroes of Lüliang" by Ma Feng and Xi Rong. In the spring of 1942, the Japanese army launched a frantic "sweep" against our Jin-Sui anti-Japanese base. To concentrate their forces to counter this "sweep," the Eighth Route Army proactively evacuated the Lüliang mountainous area. The anti-Japanese struggle of the people in Lüliang entered its most difficult period... Kangjiazai, a village located in the Lüliang Mountains. After the Eighth Route Army withdrew, the situation in the village became turbulent and unpredictable. Old landlord Kang Xixue was fortunate to believe that the time to counterattack and reclaim the money and grain lost in the struggles for rent reduction had come, plotting to restore his power in the village. Kang Shunfeng, an agricultural association cadre, quickly adjusted to the situation, willingly helping Kang Xixue. Young Communist Party member and agricultural association cadre Lei Shizhu, leading party members Kang Mingli and Meng Erleng, stepped forward, determined to expose Kang Xixue's conspiracy... This "Legend of the Heroes of Lüliang" is the first long novel reflecting the anti-Japanese struggle of the entire nation under the leadership of the Communist Party, with print runs exceeding one million. It tells the story of ordinary villagers in a Lüliang mountain village gradually awakening amidst the Japanese invaders' atrocities, organizing militia forces under the leadership of the Communist Party to fiercely fight against the enemy. This is not the first time "The Legend of the Heroes of Lüliang" has been adapted into a film and television script. Previously, there were adaptations in places like Beijing, Henan, and Shanxi, but due to insufficient investment or unsatisfactory scripts, none were produced.
