At Xincheng Renhe Hospital, nurse Zhang Shumei is forced to leave her position after being accused of administering the wrong medication, which led to a patient's death. Her 4-year-old daughter is abducted by traffickers, and two years later, Zhang Shumei, mentally distraught, loses her life in an accident. Chinese-American surgical expert Zhuang Shu arrives at Xincheng Renhe Hospital to investigate the truth behind his mother Zhang Shumei's incident from 30 years ago while searching for his missing sister. The deceased's daughter, Lu Chenxi, who trained under Fu Bowen, has grown into a thoracic surgery attending physician but has repeatedly clashed with the head of thoracic surgery, Yang Fan, due to her disdain for self-interest, resulting in her transfer to the emergency department. It is Zhuang Shu who brings the highly skilled Lu Chenxi back to the thoracic surgery operating table multiple times. In their day-to-day interactions, Zhuang Shu's medical skills amaze Lu Chenxi, and his thoughtful consideration for patients prompts her to reflect. The two gradually develop feelings for each other.
