Erika accidentally becomes pregnant and is completely unprepared to welcome her first child. Erika is known to be a control freak, meticulously planning every aspect of her delivery, even scheduling a cesarean section for herself. One night, she is awakened by labor pains, and the baby unexpectedly arrives early. Overly obsessed with perfectionism, Erika ends up having a mental breakdown. She is unable to care for her newborn son and starts exhibiting symptoms of anxiety disorders. The doctor recommends group therapy. Reluctantly, Erika follows the doctor's advice and takes a job at an unknown hotel, living among a group of people experiencing the same issues. Through interacting with her peers, she begins to recognize and reshape herself, waking up each day as a new Erika. "Hotell" is the second feature film by Swedish director Lisa Langseth. Alicia Vikander stars as the female lead, having previously appeared in films like "A Royal Affair" and "Anna Karenina."
