In the late 1980s, a young man named Yoshimichi Yokodate (played by Kengo Kora) appears on the streets of Tokyo with a bewildered expression. Just as his somewhat peculiar name suggests, Yokodate seems to have an innate gap with the modern metropolis. However, this naturally optimistic and somewhat naive big boy quickly adapts to his new life. In the bustling campus, he first meets Kuramochi (played by Sōta Matsumoto) and Akutsu Yui (played by Aki Asakura), briefly interacts with the secretive Kato Yusuke (played by Go Ayano), and embarks on a romantic relationship with the innocent rich girl Shoyoko (played by Yuriko Yoshitaka). He also seems to have a fondness for the worldly Chiharu (played by Ai Ito). As years go by, when these people occasionally pause and recall the beautiful memories left by Yokodate in their lives, what feelings will arise in their hearts? This film is adapted from Shuichi Yoshida's original work of the same name.
