The 30-episode anti-Japanese war drama "The First Paratroopers" is adapted from the bestselling novel "Dandelions on the Battlefield" by author Wang Waima Jia. This is the third time his work has been adapted into a TV series, following "Chinese Cavalry" and "Militia Ge Erdan." The book uses "dandelion" to symbolize paratroopers flying in the sky above the battlefield and tells the story of the protagonist Cai Zhicheng, who joins the army during the war and becomes one of China's first paratroopers. He experiences the brutal Songshan battle and the Nanjing surrender ceremony, ultimately choosing to join the Communist Party of China in the conflict between faith and reality, allowing the "dandelion" to continue flying in the sky of the republic.
