This is the second installment of Beverly Hills Cop. Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) returns to Detroit as a detective after solving a case in the previous installment, but upon his return, he finds himself bored. Therefore, Axel decides to go fishing every week with his good friend and partner, the chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, Howard C. Bogomil (Ronny Cox). However, this week Bogomil cancels their fishing trip at the last minute, and Axel later learns that Bogomil has become embroiled in a complex and dangerous case investigation. Unfortunately, Bogomil gets injured from criminal gunfire during the investigation and is now in the hospital. As someone who values loyalty and despises evil, Axel cannot sit idly by; he immediately contacts his best partner, Billy (Judge Reinhold), to help him take revenge for his friend.
