A classic Huangmei opera, awarded the Best Opera Gold Eagle Award in the 1993 China "Public Television" evaluation. Young master Cao Jintang fell in love with the maid Chen Jinge during their childhood. Under the red sleeves' warmth at night, Chen Jinge and Cao Jintang indulged in forbidden fruit, but the beautiful dream was fleeting. When Cao Jintang was named on the list of successful candidates, he married the wealthy woman Liang Huimei. While the new couple celebrated, the old lover wept; Cao Jintang was captivated by Liang Huimei's stunning appearance, unaware that someone was alone tending their wounds. Chen Jinge's brother, Chen Genfu, visited his sister and discovered that Liang Huimei had once stayed at their inn. By chance, he found a letter from Liang Huimei to her former lover Sang Junjia in the Cao family garden.
