Co-produced in 1997 by the Film and Television Department of China Central Television, the Navy Political Department's Television Art Center, the Municipal Party Committee and Government of Baishan, and the Municipal Party Committee and Government of Linjiang, the 14-episode TV series "Four Guards of Linjiang" (the CCTV broadcast version is 10 episodes) is one of the earliest dramas featuring Chen Yun as the main character. It won the third prize at the 18th China TV Flying Apsaras Awards in 1997. Writer: Wang Shuming, Chief Director: Jin Tao. The whole series begins with the victorious conclusion of the New Kai Ling Campaign, mainly reflecting the history of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army repelling four attacks from the Kuomintang army under extremely tough conditions from October 1946 to March 1947, while maintaining the southern Manchurian base. It focuses on portraying Chen Yun’s extraordinary command skills and calm demeanor in the face of the pressing danger posed by the Kuomintang troops, as well as his rich feelings of kinship with the people and comrades, and his meticulous thinking and humorous personality. It also shapes artistic images of senior commanders of our army such as Xiao Jingguang, Xiao Hua, Han Xianchu, as well as grassroots fighters like Zhao Dashan, each with their own distinctive character traits, along with the love and support of the people for the People’s Liberation Army.
