In the future, a space-time corridor known as the "Path" appears over Antarctica, resembling a mushroom cloud, allowing the alien beings "Gamu" to launch an attack on Earth. After 33 years of fierce fighting, humanity finally seals the "Gamu" on the other side of the pathway—on the planet Fiery. However, with the disappearance of Gamu, people gradually begin to forget about this event, but the battle continues on Fiery... The original work "Combat Fairy Yukikaze" is a representative novel by Chohei Kanbayashi, who won the Nebula Award at the Japan Science Fiction Convention. It has been adapted into an OVA by the Gonzo team, known for its expertise in 3D animation with works such as "Blue Submarine No. 6" and "Last Exile," and with assistance from the renowned Production I.G and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, it created the most realistic hard sci-fi aerial combat animation in history. All the aerial combat terminology is highly professional; to experience the sense of speed, team members even personally flew in F15 fighter jets for inspiration. It took a total of five years to create this pyramid-level hard sci-fi work. The tension of the story and visuals puts it far ahead of any other aerial combat-related work.
