Zhang Lifeng is very confident about her life. In her career, the company has just gone through the unexpected loss of its CEO, but thanks to her efforts, the business is progressing smoothly and she is likely to become the new manager; in her family life, her marriage has steadily passed the 20-year mark, her daughter Zhou Yinchang is now a junior in college, and her husband Zhou Zhijun is a typical scholar, often immersed in his own world. Everything is well-organized and smooth, just like how she manages her company. However, a multimedia message ended Zhang Lifeng's peaceful life: the photos show her in an ambiguous situation with another man... The blackmailer keeps presenting bizarre extortion demands, seemingly not after money... Zhang Lifeng's close friend, radio host Sun Bo, also gets caught up in this crisis; she witnesses Zhang Lifeng being relentlessly pursued but feels powerless to help. Zhang Lifeng's internal world slowly begins to unravel; as a strong woman, she is not as glamorous as outsiders perceive. Zhang Lifeng has devoted all her energy and time to work, neglecting communication with her husband Zhou Zhijun, resulting in a state of separation in their married life. This leads Zhang Lifeng to find a lover during an unexpected encounter... Rationally, Zhang Lifeng eventually cuts off her connection with her lover, but the damage has already been done— the appearance of the blackmailer is merely the fuse that ignites family conflict... To maintain her family's integrity and her reputation, Zhang Lifeng compromises at every turn. She tries to meet the blackmailer's demands, giving him money and accepting the conditions that humiliate her in public, but the facts increasingly suggest that the blackmailer is likely a person with psychological issues who doesn't really want money but aims to humiliate Zhang Lifeng. Ultimately, the blackmailer attacks Zhang Lifeng's company's local area network, crossing her final line of tolerance. Zhang Lifeng calls the police, refusing to play the blackmailer's game any longer. Zhang Lifeng decides to confess her faults to her family, fully aware that her honesty could plunge them into turmoil. Sun Bo tries to stop her but fails; Zhang Lifeng finally reveals everything... To Zhang Lifeng's surprise, Zhou Zhijun remains unusually calm in the face of her confession, as if he already knew everything: after years together, Zhou Zhijun had begun to harbor doubts about Zhang Lifeng. In a moment of impulse, he had hired a skilled investigator online called "God's Eye" to look into Zhang Lifeng, providing "God's Eye" with all her information. After that, "God's Eye" vanished, and it turned out to be the mastermind behind the blackmail scheme. Zhou Zhijun finds himself in a state of panic and conflict. Zhang Lifeng has openly admitted all her faults and is prepared to bear the consequences; what should he do? The family crisis is not yet over, and somehow, their daughter Zhou Yinchang unilaterally changes her major and brings home a boyfriend the same age as her parents! Her new perspective on family and career touches Zhang Lifeng and Zhou Zhijun, who begin to break free from their complaints and misunderstandings of each other, trying to understand one another's inner thoughts. The Zhang family seems to have avoided the family crisis provoked by Zhang Lifeng's confession. However, the hidden secrets within Zhou Zhijun torment him... Finally, Zhang Lifeng, who is beginning to learn how to soften her character, and Zhou Zhijun, who is becoming stronger and more optimistic, sit together, and Zhou Zhijun reveals the story behind the blackmailer... This carefully maintained family finally collapses, and they decide to divorce. Yet years of feelings make the process exceedingly delicate and difficult; the divorce becomes a catalyst for them to reminisce about the past, recalling the warmth of the years gone by, and just as they realize each other’s kindness, they obtain the divorce certificate... Both now single, Zhang Lifeng and Zhou Zhijun finally meet without the constraints of marital responsibilities and obligations, and they each express their true feelings. Zhou Zhijun's misunderstanding of Zhang Lifeng's career success stems from traditional views favoring sons over daughters, while Zhang Lifeng has forgotten that she is a wife, a mother, and a woman amid her relentless strength. They discover that their relationship is filled with misunderstandings and subjective assumptions—the lover and the blackmailer were not the reasons for their divorce; rather, it was their inability to communicate and their disregard for each other that led to the end of their marriage. Zhang Lifeng sheds her strong facade and begins to experience life anew. With the help of Sun Bo and her daughter, she starts to change, learning to smile and enjoy life. She begins to record her daily feelings with a camera. Zhou Zhijun also starts his journey of rebirth: he exercises his will at a mountaineering club; he learns how to buy gifts for loved ones; he learns to drive, preparing to step out of his personal world and experience life. When he hears about Zhang Lifeng's fall from the mountain, he rushes to the cliff without hesitation, using his life to protect the woman he loves. Zhou Zhijun takes Zhang Lifeng on an outdoor crossing trip. In the downpour, they support each other, and while waiting for the sunrise, they share the warmth on their faces as they merge calmly with nature. Can they reclaim the lost love? The weddings of Zhou Yinchang, Shen Baodong, Sun Bo, and Ji Yang proceed as scheduled. To the brilliant "Wedding March," Zhou Zhijun and Zhang Lifeng watch the young couple embarking on their marriage journey, teary-eyed.
