Since his mother began chemotherapy, young Conor has been having nightmares every night. The dreams always feature dark and gloomy weather, howling winds, and screams, with hands that he cannot hold onto no matter how hard he tries, tormenting him. He always has the same nightmare until one day an unexpected guest appears in his home. A demon with an ancient presence tells Conor that he has been summoned by him and wants to exchange three stories for one true story from Conor’s life. Conor is not afraid of the demon because what he is facing—his beloved mother slowly approaching death—is far more terrifying. Gradually, Conor realizes that the demon appears every night at specific times, and its seemingly meaningless stories seem to carry some deeper significance. Is it a messenger of death, or the miracle Conor has been hoping for? The story that Conor has been unwilling to share with the demon is, in fact, his darkest secret…
