After going through numerous hardships, the rich young lady Riko Shiratori (played by Mayuko Kawakita), who grew up in a honey pot, finally gets together with her long-time crush, the prince charming Tetsuya Akimoto (played by Masaru Mizuno). They live under the same roof, enjoying a sweet and happy life. One day, the basketball team that Tetsuya belongs to is about to head to their hometown—Shimoda in Shizuoka Prefecture—for training. Tetsuya hopes to take this opportunity to introduce Riko to his family, and Riko is extremely excited about it. Unfortunately, things take an unexpected turn as the Shiratori family plans to develop a resort in Shimoda, which sparks strong opposition from local fishermen represented by Tetsuya's father. The already stark class differences between the Shiratori and Akimoto families deepen further. Riko tries to persuade her father, Jitaro (played by Shiki Harumi), to abandon the plan, but instead, she is grounded and forbidden to go out. During this time, their love faces severe tests. A prestigious young man, Kiichi Kiryu (played by Yutaka Kobayashi), pays a visit, hoping for a political marriage with Riko. Tetsuya's childhood friend, Yumi (played by Ikumi Hisamatsu), also gets involved, launching a romantic offensive against Tetsuya. Can Riko, caught in the center of the turmoil, break through the shackles and tests of love? This film is adapted from Yumiko Suzuki's manga.
