This film depicts three love stories set against the backdrop of Vietnamese landscapes: In spring, a rural girl named Xin is hired by a wealthy family to pick white lotus flowers. Every day, admiring the view of the lotus pond, she hums folk songs with other female workers. Her singing attracts Mr. Du, who suffers from leprosy. While she copies poems for him, they develop a friendship despite their age difference; In the dry season, a cyclo driver named Hai coincidentally meets a prostitute named Lien.
