Frank Castle (played by Thomas Jane) has spent most of his life racing against death. After serving in the Marines, he joined the FBI. After years of living in the crossfire, Frank no longer wants to live under constant threat of death, with his family always in fear for his safety. Therefore, he decides to retire early to enjoy a peaceful life with his wife and children. However, during his final mission, an innocent young man dies due to an accident. This young man’s father is Howard Saint (played by John Travolta), a wealthy businessman in Tampa. Seeking revenge for his son, Howard issues a death warrant for Frank and his family through the black market. Luckily, Frank survives this calamity. In order to seek vengeance, Frank no longer relies on the law but instead chooses to arm himself and challenge Howard directly. How will Frank cope against the private army that Howard assembles?
