In the fourth Arab-Israeli war of 1973, an Israeli fighter jet carrying nuclear weapons was shot down in Syria, and the nuclear bomb was subsequently buried by time and sandstorms. However, 29 years later, the bomb is unearthed by a civilian couple and sold cheaply to an arms dealer, who ultimately sells it to terrorists. These terrorists are planning a nuclear explosion at a bustling location in the United States, intending to blame it on Russia and provoke a new world war. Young and alert CIA intelligence analyst Jack Ryan (played by Ben Affleck) senses something amiss during a meeting with the new president of Russia, and through his contacts, he quickly uncovers the terrorists' shocking plot. However, Ryan's assessment goes unheeded by the agency, and in a moment of desperation, he gains the trust and collaboration of seasoned analyst William Cabot (played by Morgan Freeman). But can the two of them find the nuclear bomb before the terrorists strike and prevent this catastrophic tragedy from happening? This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by American military writer Tom Clancy.
