In 1964, the young Ali (played by Will Smith) triumphed over Sonny Liston to become the new heavyweight champion with his exceptional boxing skills and unwavering determination! During the Vietnam War, Ali refused to serve in the military, stating, "The Viet Cong never called me a nigger." Due to his straightforward character and refusal to succumb to what he believed was wrong, Ali faced immense hardships: the U.S. government tried every means to imprison him; the boxing association stripped him of his championship belt, among others. Over the tumultuous decade from 1964 to 1974, Ali's enduring perseverance and unyielding independence not only resonated with him personally but also had a significant impact on the boxing world and society as a whole. He became a spiritual leader for the Black movement and the anti-Vietnam War movement. Ultimately, in 1974, Ali, at the age of 34, with remarkable willpower, once again challenged for the heavyweight title!
