The only cinema by the sea in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, has closed down. On the stormy night of its closure, a special feature of Japanese war films is screened overnight. Three young people who came to watch the movie are suddenly surrounded by a lightning strike that hits the cinema, causing them to time travel into the world of the films. Edo period, the chaotic Bakumatsu era, the Boshin War, the Pacific War... The three gradually realize they are exploring the world of war films on screen. As the history of war changes, film technology evolves from silent black and white to sound and color films. The stage moves to the night before the atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima. Can the three young people save the moving theater troupe they encounter and change their fate?
