An accident leaves Zhang Yu (played by Su Miaoling) with brain damage, rendering her unable to take care of herself and turning her into a psychiatric patient. Wu Jiang (played by Li Zhizhong) is Zhang Yu's childhood friend, who brings her to his home and takes care of her meticulously. Though Zhang Yu's condition seems unchanged, Wu Jiang discovers by chance that she regains her sanity in her sleep and talks about past stories, giving him hope for her recovery. Wu Jiang’s own life is a mess; with a fiery temperament and a slight tendency for violence, he often resorts to aggressive solutions for his problems, resulting in several short-lived jobs.
