Martin Brest (played by Til Schweiger) and Rudi Wurlitzer (played by Jan Josef Liefers) are two terminally ill patients who meet in the hospital. They hit it off and share a bottle of wine they randomly found. After getting drunk, Martin learns a secret about Rudi: he has never seen the ocean in his entire life. Martin decides to fulfill this wish for Rudi before he passes away. They steal a car, only to discover that it's owned by a mob boss, which contains a large amount of cash. They also end up robbing along the way while being chased by the police. The mobsters are pursuing them to reclaim the money in the car. On their journey to find the ocean, how many dangers will they face? Will Martin and Rudi eventually achieve their dream of seeing the ocean? Heaven awaits, and they are going to knock on heaven's door...
