Due to unfortunate experiences in childhood, Vincent (played by Florian David Fitz) suffers from Tourette's syndrome. After his mother's death, his busy father, unable to care for him, sends Vincent to a sanatorium. Life in the sanatorium is dull and monotonous, but fortunately, Vincent finds companionship with his two friends, Marie (played by Karoline Herfurth) and Alex (played by Johannes Allmayer), through which he experiences the wonderful taste of friendship and love. In a carefully planned escape, the three young people decide to travel to Italy to see the ocean they have always dreamed of. Completing this long journey is not easy for these mentally challenged kids; first, Alex feels jealousy over the close relationship between Marie and Vincent, and then Marie falls into a coma due to an eating disorder. The uncertain future awaits them as they must face doctors pursuing them and the growing pains that come with youth and maturation.
