Ian Wyndham (played by Paul Nicholls) and his girlfriend Samantha Andrews (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt) are like any ordinary couple, busy with their lives and having little time for each other. After a fight, Peter hesitates to get into a taxi to apologize, and in that moment of hesitation, his girlfriend chooses to leave. In less than a minute, the taxi collides with a truck at the street corner, and his girlfriend dies tragically.
