Philipa (Cate Blanchett) made a homemade bomb to take revenge for her family and secretly placed it in a drug dealer's office while distracting an unsuspecting secretary. However, misfortune struck. Due to the cleaner's actions, she did not kill her enemy, but instead caused the deaths of four innocent lives. Believing she had avenged her family, Philipa freely confessed with no remorse when arrested by the police. Since she insisted on speaking in English, the police clerk Philip (Giovanni Ribisi) volunteered to translate. During the harsh interrogation, she learned the truth and was left devastated. Philip also learned about her background: she had continuously written to the Italian police, but her letters were ignored, leading her to suspect that there were people within the police involved in drug trafficking, and some even wanted to silence her. At that point, Philip secretly helped her escape from the police station, and they built a genuine bond through their trials, fighting side by side…
