Professional killer Tang (played by Louis Koo) is arrested for murder and spends a long twelve years in prison. After being released, Tang secretly vows to cut ties with his past and become a good person for the rest of his life. However, his former friends, Chan Hung (played by Danny Lee) and Max (played by Julian Cheung), are not willing to let him go; they want Tang to return to the underworld and eliminate a presidential candidate in the Philippines. Tang resolutely refuses his friends' unreasonable request, but soon after, the candidate is murdered, and evidence left at the scene points to Tang as the killer. As a result, Tang is pursued by the police. With the help of journalist Annie (played by Ada Choi), Tang embarks on a thrilling escape, while the heavy task of uncovering the true murderer and revealing Chan Hung's crimes falls on him.
