In a tragic incident, Sarah (played by Jodie Foster) is raped in a bar. The men who witness the horrific act not only fail to intervene but actually take pleasure in the situation. After enduring immense physical and emotional trauma, Sarah takes these vile men to court, only to find that public opinion turns against her, accusing her of promiscuity and misconduct. Catherine (played by Kelly McGillis), the prosecutor assigned to defend Sarah, has a deeper understanding and sympathy for Sarah’s unfortunate ordeal as a woman. The verdict is announced, and the guilty men receive only nine months of imprisonment. The law, meant to protect victims and punish wrongdoers, instead becomes a shield for the criminals. Furious, Catherine refuses to stand idly by. Through their relentless efforts, both Catherine and Sarah ensure that justice is served, restoring courage and dignity for women through their actions.
