In 1858, two years before the American Civil War, German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (portrayed by Christoph Waltz) buys the slave Django (Jamie Foxx) from a slave trader, granting him his freedom. Schultz's true intention is to train Django into a bounty hunter to help capture various fugitives for a price. Django's only condition is to rescue his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from the brutal plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). This film is Quentin's homage to the classic Italian western "Django" directed by Sergio Corbucci in 1966. The genius director Quentin Tarantino spent three years crafting this masterpiece, following "Inglourious Basterds."
