The eccentric Mr. Olivander (Geoffrey Rush) is an appraiser at a top art auction house, and throughout his decades-long career, he has rarely made a mistake. His greatest passion is collecting portraits of women from various periods. Billy (Donald Sutherland) helps him acquire desired paintings at low prices, while young Robert (Jim Sturgess) assists him in using technology to authenticate antiques. One day, a mysterious female client, Claire (Sylvia Hoeks), enters his life with a large inheritance of antiques. Claire claims to suffer from agoraphobia and never shows her face, yet this unusual way of communicating gradually fascinates Olivander, leading him to seek Robert's advice on how to pursue a woman. Eventually, Olivander abandons his previous life, but a shocking conspiracy is quietly waiting for him.
