Heartbroken youth Zhao Xiaoshuai (played by Jiang Wen) is a private book dealer. After breaking up with his girlfriend An Hong (played by Qu Ying), he wants to get back together and relentlessly pursues her. However, An Hong is dating Liu Delong (played by Liu Xinyi), the boss of an entertainment company, and the two, who see each other as rivals, eventually get into a fight. In the chaos, Xiaoshuai snatches the backpack of pedestrian Zhang Qiusheng (played by Li Baotian) and uses it as a weapon, smashing it against a utility pole and damaging the computer inside.
