In the international metropolis of Tokyo, Japan, Haruki Nagamine (played by Kenichi Matsuyama), who grew up in the mountains, is now a financial market operator striving for success. One day, he receives a phone call from his mother (played by Tomomi Maruyama) from their hometown, revealing that his strict and strong father, Yūbu (played by Kōji Kobayashi), unfortunately passed away while rescuing a climber in distress. This sudden news catches Haruki off guard; he rushes back home but can no longer hear his father's stern yet gentle reprimands. Yūbu had built a small cabin at the peak of Tateyama for climbers to rest, having rescued many in distress and forming deep friendships with countless climbers he met along the way. After much consideration, Haruki decides to resign and return home to continue running the cabin. He teams up with a girl, Ai Takazawa (played by Yu Aoi), whom his father had once saved, and his father's old friend, Gorō Tada (played by Etsushi Toyokawa), to bring new life to the cabin. Climbers gradually return, their faces adorned with the warm smiles of reunion... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Ryohei Sasamoto.
