With the arrival of summer vacation, a third-grade student named Masao (played by Yusuke Sekiguchi), who lost his father at a young age, is now living with his grandmother and finds the summer particularly boring. He pulls out a letter from his mother who sent it from afar and decides to visit her alone in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture. The neighbor aunt (played by Kayoko Kishimoto) discovers this and decides to help Masao realize his wish.
