In the Sorachi region of Hokkaido, under the vast Amano sky, two brothers, Aqing (played by Ohno Satoshi) and Xiaolu (played by Shigetatsu Satoya), rely on each other for survival. Aqing, who once chased his dream of becoming a musician in Tokyo, has been cultivating the "black diamond" Pinot Noir grapes left by his father for the past five years. He desperately seeks a refined taste in his wine but has yet to capture that elusive flavor. One day, a camper suddenly barges in. The owner is a free-spirited and beautiful woman, Erika (played by Ando Yuko). She camps by the field, refusing to leave no matter how hard Aqing tries to chase her away. Aqing calls his uncle Asahi (played by Taguchi Tomorowo), a police officer, but to his surprise, the latter joyfully joins Erika's culinary feast. As time passes, the two brothers seem to gradually accept this unexpected guest. Aqing invites her to taste his still unsuccessful wine, and Erika tells the story behind its name. Erika brings more sunshine into this arid land and gradually illuminates Aqing's heart...
