Because of the marigold, Qianqian found her own pure happiness; because of the marigold, Peiyin and Zige moved from love to marriage. The marigold symbolizes parting, but for them, it is the best token of never parting. Peiyin's boyfriend Lin Weizhi married someone new in the United States, and Peiyin took a position as Qianqian's tutor at Zige's home. After spending time together, she fell in love with Zige, while Songchao, who got to know Qianqian through Peiyin, tried to get closer to her by learning about her favorite flowers and helped her build a greenhouse. His efforts moved Qianqian, and they fell in love. At this point, Weizhen, who had previously dated Songchao, appeared saying she had Songchao's child. It turned out Weizhen was lying, and Qianqian loved Songchao very much, asking Weizhen to let him go... The film "Marigold" was produced by Qiong Yao's Star Movie Company on March 29, 1980, directed by Liu Lili and starring Lin Qingxia and Qin Han. An adaptation of a Qiong Yao novel, it was often referred to simply as a "Qiong Yao film," achieving box office success not only in Taiwan but also in Singapore, Hong Kong, and overseas regions such as the United States and Canada. As long as the director or producer purchased a Qiong Yao novel, they could globally "sell it," receiving a deposit in advance to start filming smoothly. Therefore, not only her long and medium-length novels but even her short stories were adapted into films.
