Rural youth Jonas (Josh Wiggins) meets his new neighbor Casey (Sophie Nélisse), and they are young and passionate, quickly falling in love. However, first love often comes with pain. Jonas accidentally discovers that Casey's father Wayne (Bill Paxton), as a local police officer, is not only corrupt and negligent but also involved in illegal activities, even ruthlessly killing.
