The story takes place on a colonial spaceship named "Covenant," carrying two thousand colonizers in stasis, headed for the distant planet Omega 6, hoping to establish a new home there. An unexpected incident damages the ship's energy-collecting sails, and Captain Branson (played by James Franco) tragically dies. As the acting captain, Oram (played by Billy Crudup) leads the terrified and grieving crew to land on an unknown mysterious planet. Here, they encounter the android David (played by Michael Fassbender), who warmly welcomes them and shares his experiences living there with the late Dr. Shaw (played by Noomi Rapace). Just as David begins to earn the crew's trust, they slowly find themselves stepping into the hell he has meticulously crafted for them.
