One day, his father (played by Teruyuki Kagawa) suddenly visits Asango (played by Eita) and tells him that an unfamiliar aunt has passed away, asking him to clean up her house. In a shabby hut by the river, Asango gradually begins to understand what kind of life his father’s aunt had. In her childhood, Aunt Kawashiri Matsuko (played by Miki Nakatani) often dreamed beautiful dreams like Snow White. She later became a compliant middle school teacher but was dismissed because of an inexplicable misunderstanding. Afterward, she cohabited with a writer, who ultimately chose to commit suicide out of love for her, leaving behind the words: "I'm sorry for being human." This incident greatly impacted Matsuko; later, she lived with the writer's career rival until succumbing to the temptation of the rival's wife, resulting in being abandoned. She then became a bathhouse girl and even ended up in prison for murder. However, whether intentionally or not, she never gave up hope for life. No matter how shattered life became, she instinctively continued to survive, and this very survival could touch anyone, including Asango.
