One night, the god Zeus summons the sea god Poseidon, accusing his son of stealing the lightning bolt and threatening war if it is not returned quickly. In reality, Poseidon's son, Percy Jackson (played by Logan Lerman), is a college student who can hold his breath underwater for 7 minutes at the age of 17 but is uninterested in his teacher's questions about Shakespeare. During a museum visit, he encounters his centaur teacher, Mr. Brunner (played by Pierce Brosnan). However, his literature teacher transforms into a Fury, demanding to know the whereabouts of the lightning bolt. Fortunately, Mr. Brunner and his satyr friend arrive in time to save him. After losing, Percy is activated by contact with water, becoming a brave and unstoppable warrior, and he sets off on a heroic journey to find the lightning bolt.
