The movie "The Emperor's Edict of the Peony Fairy" tells the story of the "world's number one peony." In winter, Empress Wu Zetian orders all flowers to bloom. The flower maiden, Ruiyu (played by Yuan Fei), insists on protecting the blooming period and refuses to allow the peony to bloom out of season, resulting in her exile to Luoyang. During her journey of exile, Ruiyu inadvertently discovers evidence of a rebellion led by Wu Chengsi and is pursued by Wu San (played by Guo Fengzhou).
