In the beautiful seaside town of Hengchun, young man A-Jia (played by范逸臣), whose musical dreams have been shattered in Taipei,冷眼旁观着一切. With the help of a political figure's father, he has become a substitute postman, but letters and packages are just cluttered in his room. One undeliverable package from Japan, as instructed by old postman Mao Bo (林宗仁), he doesn't return but privately opens: inside, besides a yellowed photo of a girl, are several letters written 60 years ago. At that time, Japan had been defeated in World War II. A Taiwanese-Japanese teacher (中孝介) abandoned his girlfriend when fleeing with the Japanese army. On his way back to Japan, he poured his love and regret into words, but the letters were only sent out by his daughter after his death. The Japanese girl Tomoko (田中千绘), studying and working in Taiwan, aspires to be a model but is deemed outdated and only gets to handle public relations for the concert of Japan's "super healing singer" 中孝介 in Hengchun. As per the norm, there will be a warm-up band before 中孝介's performance, and Tomoko initially reached out to a Japanese band, but the local committee insists on using a local group. Reluctantly, she teams up with several local music enthusiasts, including A-Jia— a police officer (民雄) who lost his happy life due to an accident, a shop worker Shui Wa (夹子小应) in love with the boss lady, and a precocious young girl Da Da (麦子), who all have vast differences in age, occupation, and personality. Since all the other members lack stage experience, conflicts often arise in the hastily formed band, and Tomoko frequently loses her temper, especially at A-Jia, who is the most experienced. After multiple adjustments in band members, including old postman Mao Bo and a seller of Hakka millet wine, Ma La Sang (马念先), replacing the bassist, the rehearsals are always challenging. As the date of 中孝介's arrival draws near, Tomoko, completely disappointed in A-Jia, decides to give up her job in Taiwan and return to Japan, but the two have already developed feelings through their friction. Soon, Tomoko finds those 60-year-old letters in A-Jia's room and is deeply moved by the beautiful love story, urging A-Jia to deliver the letters to the person involved. Although neither of them expresses their feelings openly, the power of love is undeniable, and A-Jia regains the courage to pursue his musical dreams because of Tomoko. Just as the concert is about to begin, the address of the letter's owner is found, and A-Jia is also informed by Tomoko that she has received a job offer from a Japanese record company.
