On the evening of May 9th, a herd of burning cattle in Kentucky ran across a farm as a UFO soared into the sky... The U.S. government quickly discovered that Martian UFOs had gathered around Earth, and after some consideration, President Dale (played by Jack Nicholson) decided to announce the arrival of the Martians to the world. In the White House, First Lady Martha (played by Glenn Close) and daughter Taffy (played by Natalie Portman) discussed the Martians' arrival as if it were a routine visit; in New York, journalist Easton and Natalie were preparing to interview Dr. Donald (played by Pierce Brosnan); in Kansas, Ricky's brother was about to take on the role of a guard for the Martians; in Las Vegas, former boxing champion Byron was struggling to make a living for his family.
