The story takes place in a beauty salon in Lebanon and revolves around the daily lives of five women. Layale (played by Nadine Labaki), Nisrine, and Rima work at the same salon, while Jamale is their regular customer. Nearby, a seamstress named Rose lives with her elderly sister Lily, who suffers from dementia. They are of different ages, personalities, and life experiences, each with their unique stories. Layale is troubled by her love for a married man and must face his unsuspecting wife; Nisrine, on the verge of her wedding, decides to have a hymen restoration surgery; Rima, a lesbian, has a crush on a beautiful client; the former actress Jamale struggles to accept her daily aging; and the elderly Rose gives up on love to care for her sister. The intertwined stories blend together like caramel, sweet and lingering yet with a touch of bitterness...
