Maki Iizuka (played by Nozomi Sasaki), who works at a publishing company in Tokyo, is about to become a bride. Just then, her grandmother, who has been her companion since childhood, passes away. With mixed emotions, Maki handles her grandmother's funeral arrangements and while sorting through her belongings, she unexpectedly discovers a white wedding kimono and a marriage application form. In the husband section, there is a name she has never heard before—Soichi Akikuni. Curious and with many questions, Maki returns to her hometown to inquire about Soichi Akikuni from relatives, friends, and locals, but finds no leads. The girl does not give up; she postpones her wedding and receives help from a fisherman named Mitsuru Oomori (played by Shunya Ishikawa), who had interactions with Akikuni. Along her long journey of searching, Maki finally learns moving stories about her parents and grandparents...
