A ring records the sincere and pure relationship between the beautiful girl Athel (Shirley MacLaine) and the handsome boy Teddy (Stephen Amell). Soon after, Teddy is assigned to complete a flight mission, and just before he leaves, he entrusts his beloved woman to their mutual friend Jack (Christopher Plummer). Teddy’s departure leaves Athel heartbroken. Upon learning that her lover will never return to her side, she marries Jack in her sorrow. Five decades later, Athel has become a mother, but her relationship with her daughter Mary (Neve Campbell) is strained. Throughout the years, Athel has never forgotten Teddy, but she has buried those strong feelings deeply within her heart.
