Under the arrangement of her parents, Yoko (played by Eriko Murakawa) marries a young man named Amemiya (played by Kento Yamazaki), thus bidding farewell to her teenage years and stepping into the role of a housewife. However, Yoko has no feelings for Amemiya; to her, her husband is merely a stranger living under the same roof. Nonetheless, Yoko engages in a physical relationship with Amemiya and becomes pregnant with his child. Ten months later, Yoko becomes a mother. Afterward, changes at work lead the Amemiya family to move to Kyoto. By chance, Yoko meets Amemiya's superior, Ochi (played by Masanobu Ando). As they interact back and forth, Yoko is drawn to the charming and refined Ochi, who in turn senses Yoko's loneliness. Ultimately, the two cross the boundaries of ethics and morals.
