In an era when television news anchors were considered authorities, Ron Burgundy (played by Will Ferrell) is a multiple award-winning anchor in San Diego. Channel 4, under his leadership, dominates the competition, and the three quirky members of his news team can only shine in Ron's presence. Outside of work, the charming Ron naturally doesn't miss the opportunity to use his fame to attract women, but one woman, Veronica (played by Christina Applegate), unexpectedly turns out to be a new colleague in the news department. Everyone's attempts to woo Veronica fail miserably, but Ron finally wins the icy beauty over with his wild charm. However, contrary to Ron's expectations, this ambitious woman begins to excel at work and challenge his position. After a car accident, Ron's life quickly spirals into chaos...
