The film is adapted by Oscar Roehler from his own novel "Origin." The story spans from 1949, after the end of World War II, to the 1980s, telling the story of three generations of a family in West Germany. Robert Freitag (played by Leonard Scheicher)'s grandfather Erich (Jürgen Vogel), a POW, entrusted his wife to another woman during his escape. Robert's parents, writer Nora and Rolf, tortured each other due to a scandal and headed towards destruction in pursuit of self-fulfillment and free love. Robert himself grew up between the secure home of his grandparents and the suppressed life of the '68 generation, struggling to find his own happiness. by: yakubd.cc
