Cuban refugee youth Tony (Al Pacino) escapes to Miami, becoming a typical fearless American street thug. Tony works for a local drug lord and, due to his ruthless nature and boldness, proves himself by successfully completing several tasks, quickly gaining recognition and becoming the drug lord's right-hand man. However, Tony is not satisfied with just that; he first takes on a big order from a Venezuelan drug lord and then systematically eliminates his rivals, expanding his power continuously. By the time his boss senses a threat, it's too late; Tony eliminates him and takes control of the Miami drug market. As Tony rises to power, his personality becomes increasingly paranoid, filling him with doubt about everyone around him, even his closest family and friends. His suspicions lead him down an irreversible path!
